Since 2010, John has worked on narrative films, commercials, documentaries, visual marketing pieces and music videos. He loves the camaraderie involved in crafting visual projects and brings creativity and a collaborative spirit to every project with which he is involved
John Nodorft is an award-winning cinematographer whose films have played at South By Southwest and Dances With Films. He is based in the Los Angeles area. He was born and raised in Iowa, America’s heartland, and at an early age was exposed to films that captured his imagination and helped him understand the power of the moving image.
John received a Bachelor’s degree in Cinema Studies from The University of Iowa and a Master’s in Film Production from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in Orange, California. At Chapman he honed his craft working on short films and studied under industry professionals Bill Dill, A.S.C; Johnny Jensen, A.S.C; and Jürg Walther
